CHARACTER INFO

Character: Ganondorf
Canon: During the final battle of TOTK [stage 1, to be exact].
Age: ...FUKKIN OLD!?!?! Somewhere in his 30s-40s physically, but he's been sealed for over 10,000 years. So uh. Yeah.

Background Information: Wiki link!

Bulletpoints;

--Of the Gerudo species(race?). One male is born every 100 years; said male becomes King. Ganondorf being the specific King we're talking about.
--Wanted to invade Hyrule since the beginning. When shown the power of the Secret Stones, decided subterfuge was a better idea. Swore fealty, then promptly assassinated the Queen and stole her stone.
--CUE WAR. At some point the Gerudo turned against him, and he embraced monsters as his minions and army. They didn't call him 'Demon King' for nothing.
--Sealed away via the combined powers of the sages and the King of Hyrule for 10,000 years.
--Came back. Promptly took over Hyrule.
--Oh god damn it there's this kid trying to stop him. Better cause mischief while cementing his power.
--What do you mean the kid defeated all the dungeons and has awakened the sages' descendants and and and and you know what fuck this, ya'all getting plunged into darkness.
--Aaaand the first stage of the final fight is where we bring him!

ALSO IMPORTANT; The series has established that Ganondorf is actually the Actual Demon King Demise reincarnated and cursed by the goddess Hylia to constantly be defeated by her reincarnation and the Hero. However, the series also has a problem with...multiple timelines, as well as general wonkiness, and the fact that These Are Games, Who Cares About Perfect Fit Just Go Stab Stab HYAAAA. For the purposes of the game, I will not have Ganondorf aware of the curse or Demise in general. If I want to change this at any point, I will bring it up directly with the mods.

Personality:
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.

Power.

Ganondorf is Power, pure and simple. He represents the ideal; he embraces the definition. He is tall, he is muscled, but he is more than just a brute; he has a forceful personality, a cunning mind, and in short, embodies the aspect. Aside from someone looking at him and more likely than not going, 'damn, that is a Big Strong Guy', the fact that he has an *intelligent* strength is more likely to gain their attention. He can smile. He can be charming.

He can be very, very dangerous. And what's more?

He knows it.

He carries himself with a confidence bordering and, indeed, passing into arrogance at times; a superiority that knows most are beneath them. But at the same time - that can be a magnet to some. The unspoken ideal of, Worship at my feet and I may reward you. But if you stand in my way, I will crush you.

2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?

Power.

Ganondorf craves it. He was born being told he was a King, and fully believes it to his core; he has the right to rule over others. To decide whether they live or die. To him, this is not a dream, it is a destiny. It goes without saying that even in a new world, he will seek to lead, to rule; to find a way to claw his way to the top, leaving a pile of broken bodies behind him. And caring not for what damage is left in his wake.

There is a distinct lack of empathy in his heart, in his soul. An inability, in a sense, to create friends; allies, at most, but even then, they are able to be thrown away and discarded. With the Gerudo themselves having turned on him and Ganondorf embracing his hordes of monsters as his army, it goes without saying that he is very used to being alone, and accepting of this; he shows no desire for company, no need for cohorts. At most, there is a level of respect for his enemies, if they have shown themselves worthy of such; however, such would not stop him from crushing them.

That said, it isn't impossible for him to work with others. Again, part of his grooming as a King. It's just that he doesn't feel the need to, most of the time; if it suits his purposes, certainly. But if things change? So be it.

3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?

Power.

For all his own Power, the fact remains, Power is not enough, alone. You need more than just cunning, you need Wisdom. You need more than just daring, you need Courage. Ganondorf is an inherently unbalanced person; while more than capable of ruling as King, the fact remains, he is a cruel king, a man too easily obsessed with grandeur and unable to see that a thorn in his side may grow to become the Sword that defeats him. And more than that; he is unwilling to take defeat, even demonstrating a willingness to sacrifice himself, his mind, *everything* to become powerful enough to defeat a foe. This 'if I fall, so will you' mentality only goes so far, obviously - it is a desperation, an attempt at being anything but weak when in the end, it can fail just as much as the others.

But arrogance and pride can be cruel masters, particularly when power is involved. They would rather scorch the earth than let themselves become...powerless.

4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Power- no wait you're probably sick of that by now. And being voiced by Matthew Mercer probably doesn't count.

Despite being such a megalomaniac, Ganondorf has an enjoyment of...culture. An appreciation of the finer things, though he does not indulge overly much. He is the sort of man to accept tribute in many forms; gold, performances, or even flesh in the form of slaves or servants. And while all of these remain disposable to him, there is no reason not to enjoy them while they are there, is there?

He also can play a number of musical instruments, as was befitting a King's upbringing; the Gerudo Horn is one of them, strings are another, but he's particularly well-versed at the organ.

Abilities & Inventory:
GLOOM
Whether it be blood magic or dark magic or some other form therein, Ganondorf has been shown utilizing a form of magic that tends to take the form of black-and-red-flames in terms of raw power. He is able to use this to create phantom puppets which are otherwise unmistakable from a real person, as well as directly utilizing this as an energy attack. In addition, he can use it to sap the strength of another, literally rendering one character's arm useless and decayed to the point of needing amputation in one case. ("...I had to replace it, less the injury endanger you further.") While in most cases, Gloom can be dispelled by the proper light/plants/magic/etc, one presumes a direct push from Ganondorf could not only linger, but serve as a sort of cancer.

In short, it's nasty stuff. And he is perfectly at ease manipulating it - even forming weapons out of the stuff. As well as hiding his own presence. But this wouldn't be nearly as deadly if not for...

COMBAT MASTERY
...his ability to wield it in combat, as well as, well. Wield it. As mentioned, he can utilize it to take the form of weapons, ranging from a naginta to a katana to, presumably, anything else. But what's more? He knows how to use these weapons. As well as dodge, block, and perform acrobatics that would seem absurd for a man of his size. The simple fact is, Ganondorf is dangerous. His entire self is honed to utilize what power he holds, physically, magically, mentally. He is trained in reading opponents, he is trained in defeating them, he is. Well.

He's a goddamn final boss.

Speaking of.

SECRET STONE
This is worth noting not just because it amplifies his abilities in general, but this- this is what brought Hyrule to its knees. His corruption of the Secret Stone, which made him the true Demon King; this amplified his natural strength, his magical abilities, and also, when further utilized? Can physically transform him into a hulking brute that's even more dangerous to stand up against.

He's also demonstrated that he is the force behind not just the Blood Moons - a time where the dead can return to life and monsters grow yet stronger. Speaking of monsters? He summons them at a whim, a horde at his command, mindless and prepared to give their very lives at his bidding.

And, well...

When one swallows the stone? They become a fucking Dragon. At the cost of their mind, their sense of self, everything. For Ganondorf, he (would become/becomes) the Demon Dragon, the Draconified Demon King. And he has only one thing on his mind in such a state; destruction.

...I will not be having him come in with the ability to spawn monsters, and commanding them would be a matter of force of personality/impressing them more than anything. Nor would the Blood Moon come into play except in extremely rare circumstances. The Draconic aspect of the stone will not be used except with mod permission, and likely only for a major plot point, given the effect it has on essentially killing the character until he's, well, killed again.

I am also fine with the stone still requiring a Tattoo to be fully unlocked. Alternatively, serving as an enhancer for the tattoos works as well, thus allowing it to possibly be stolen/taken from him and used by another player to get a power boost to their powers. Either way, I'd still like it to serve as some sort of MacGuffin if possible.

ARMADA SELECTION

Corsair, absolutely. Take What You Want, Give Nothing Back, etc. Ganondorf believes in might being right, in taking/looting over preparing for those that come after, etc etc etc.

...But very much planning on getting him his own ship/crew ASAP. He'll still probably be in the Corsair armada, though. As long as THEY don't kick him out.

Questions: Ganondorf is practically at your disposal if you need a villain for any purpose. In addition, he'll be causing mischief on his own; anything major or with the potential of affecting more than 3-4 people will be run by mods, unless you'd prefer to adjust this.
